Our Food Security Program

Food security is at the heart of rural poverty. Some of the main constraints for Lao are: an extremely limited access to markets, low productivity, the cause and effect relationship between poor nutrition and low food security, weak rural agricultural services, low crop yields and no market diversification. Within this context, ADRA's aim is to help Lao PDR work towards the Millennium Development Goal 1 (End Poverty and Hunger). Our program enables this by partnering with communities and the government in rural areas with an integrated approach that focuses on sustainable improvements to livelihoods, land management, access to markets, increased and improved productivity, and improved nutrition.
