ADRA‘s Commitment Good Governance

ADRA in the Lao PDR is part of the ADRA International network with its headquarters in Washington DC, USA. The ADRA International Asia Regional Office is located in Bangkok, Thailand.

ADRA Lao PDR’s Board of Directors approves the agency’s strategic direction, annual plans and budgets, and policies. The Country Director has overall responsibility for running the agency’s day-to-day activities. These activities revolve around the effective implementation of development projects. At the head office in Vientiane, program and finance units (led by Program and Finance Directors) support area development programs (ADPs). An ADP may comprise a number of projects, each of which is led by a Project Manager.

Registration

Registration Status in Lao PDR

ADRA has been engaged in development cooperation and emergency relief activities in the Lao PDR since 1991. Initially activities were managed from the ADRA Thailand office in Bangkok. On 21 July 1992, ADRA signed an official agreement of cooperation with the Government of the Lao PDR, and in April 1994 an ADRA office was established in Vientiane.
